Hello friends! It’s certainly been awhile, hasn’t it?
Between work, writing my master’s thesis, wrapping up my program and hosting a few visitors, life has lately been doing a good job at keeping me busy,
in a good way of course,
but oh my goodness it’s nice to slow down and be back to typing on this thing.
Not too long ago I was able to pull myself away from my desk and hop on over to the beach for a photo shoot with my roommate. She recently started a blog (so proud!) and wanted some photos to kick off her first post. It was such a beautiful day and presented itself as the perfect opportunity for a break.
Still have some work to do re: the camera awkwardness,
one thing at a time as they say :)

It’s with great pleasure that I report this year’s Thanksgiving was a smashing success.
Since my people celebrate this grand holiday in October and these American types prefer it in November, I was succumbed to waiting an extra month longer for my turkey, stuffing & pumpkin pie…how dare they :)
The extra days off and
probably most certainly one of the yummiest of meals is always oh so worth it, and spending it with one of my best friends and her family up in Oregon made it even better than I could have imagined. « Read the rest of this entry »

Happy Labor Day friends!
Long weekends are just the best, so I hope you’re all enjoying this extra day off.
I’m currently making the most of this holiday with a visit to a city that’s been on my California bucket list from the very beginning – Palm Springs.
Lucky for me a very good friend of mine was also up for something fun and in the sun. Her words exactly :)
So in the spirit of desert oases, palm trees, relaxation and poolside beverages, I thought I’d put together a round up of items that seemed well-suited for a Palm Springs weekend getaway. « Read the rest of this entry »

If I had to walk down a red carpet it would hands down be the one rolled out for the Met Gala. I stumbled upon these pictures taken by NYC photographer Jamie Beck and have never been so captivated by fashion photography. The sophisticated + intricate detailing of all the cascading silk trains, the sparkle from the jewellery and the bright colours contrasted against the bold red carpet left me wanting more. And, of course, the only thing better than spotting a man in a crisp, clean and suave tuxedo is spotting a group of men in crisp, clean and suave tuxedos. And the knees are going weak. « Read the rest of this entry »

I admire girls like Blair, Samantha, Elsie and Sydney who are not only incredibly photogenic but have such ease + grace in front of the camera. I enjoy having my picture taken with others, but having my picture taken by myself is a completely different story. I’m awkward, I feel self-conscious, oftentimes ridiculous + semi-permanently embarrassed so when I got handed a self-portrait assignment I
kind of cringed. I put it off for as long as possible until I knew I had to just go for it. Did I get over my awkwardness? « Read the rest of this entry »
