worth coming home for.

Just before I flew south to spend the holidays with my family, I got together with some of my best girlfriends for our annual Christmas potluck. It was the first time I had seen all of them since I had moved away! « Read the rest of this entry »

I just wanted to take a moment to wish you all a very merry Christmas! However you celebrate, I hope you get the chance to enjoy it with family, friends and loved ones. I’m going to take these next few days off and do just that.
Until then, best wishes for a lovely and wonderful holiday!

Growing up in a city where a white christmas is expected makes it a challenge to imagine the holidays without snow. I’m all about the LA weather, but at this time of year I crave the sight of snowflakes and the need to bundle up. « Read the rest of this entry »

The Toronto Christmas Market in the Distillery District should be at the top of every winter to do list. It’s just the best. I’ve missed going every year for a slew of different reasons and I’m ecstatic to report that this year was finally the exception. « Read the rest of this entry »

Ugly sweaters, rum egg nog, presents, Santa hats, Christmas music, way too much laughing and some of my favorite people made for a perfect night back in Toronto. When I wasn’t indulging in the abundance of potluck offerings, having very necessary catch ups or playing assistant in creating the evening’s playlist, I’d find myself just sitting back and smiling because I was finally in the same room as my friends for the first time in five months. I seriously missed these people. And remember that holiday gift guide I made the other day? « Read the rest of this entry »

Today I’m trading sunshine for snow, a view of the Hollywood Hills for Lake Ontario, sweaters for much warmer sweaters and weird things (like Fahrenheit and miles) for normal things (like Celsius and kilometers)…just to name a few. That’s right – I’m Toronto bound and gleaming at the thought of all this and so much more! « Read the rest of this entry »
holiday gift guide: my favorites.

I can see the light at the end of the tunnel – finals season is almost officially over. One more round of edits for my last project and then I’m free! And the best news of all? I get to hop on a plane bound for my family, loved ones and friends who I haven’t seen in five months. Holiday parties, dinners, ugly sweaters, snowboarding, dog sledding and cottaging among so much more await my return and I’m gleaming!
So to get in the holiday spirit, I thought I’d craft my first holiday gift guide! Some of these I own and can therefore attest to how great they are (the charleston vintage clock). Others I would love because either they’re practical (travel press), fun (faux fur snood) or because I’ve been dreaming about them for a long time (lo & sons camera bag or that beautiful tory burch thing).
Wouldn’t this look like a great Christmas? « Read the rest of this entry »

…And now of course that song is stuck in my head!
I’m going to be unplugged for a few days while I spend some relaxing time with my family! There might not be any snow down here in Florida, but I could certainly get used to this sun + heat! Just wanted to pop in quickly to wish all of you a very merry Christmas and the happiest of holidays!
