So back to PCH roadtrip photos…after conquering parts of San Francisco and Sausalito on bike, we decided to give ourselves the challenge of biking the 17 Mile Drive.
Heather and I rented out bikes and started making our way down the coast when I suddenly got really faint, started shaking and getting head spins. Apparently I hadn’t eaten enough for breakfast and the physical activity coupled with the heat hit me all at once. I begrudgingly had to return my bike and was seriously bummed out because I felt so badly!
But…

I’m in the final stretch of being done my first year of grad school.
So hard to believe.
I’ve only got one more week left, so until then I need to take a step back from blogging and be a good student.

Starting a life in a different city always entails a whole lot of new: a new neighborhood, new friends, new routines, new priorities, new customs and even new challenges.
Fortunately, the adjustment of moving to LA was relatively smooth, so all the new I’ve welcomed into my life here over the last eight months (I still can’t believe it’s been that long) has been quite great.
Between school, friends, extra curriculars, exploring the city, keeping up with this blog, maintaining a social life and gearing up for the summer, I’m one busy gal.
But sometimes – I hate to admit – having this much on the go at one time often means I have a tendency to get caught up in all things LA and not devote nearly enough time to all things at home.

roadtripping: pebble beach.

It’s easy to visit a place like Carmel and not want to do anything but lie on the beach with a book in hand to watch the sunset.
Besides its amazing beach, Carmel is also home to the 17 Mile Drive, which includes this really great place called Pebble Beach - a resort right on the water with a really famous golf course. Sometimes I like to pretend I’m a golfer, and this is one place I’d absolutely love to play at. But until that day comes, I’ll stick to patio lunches overlooking the 18th green :)
So after a morning visit to the Monterey Bay Aquarium, that’s exactly what Heather and I did. We snagged the last outdoor table at Stillwater Bar and Grill, devoured fresh fish n’ chips and watched golfer after golfer finish up their rounds against an ocean backdrop.
It was perfect.
This is seriously a must-do if you ever take a trip down the PCH. Even if you’re not a golfer (or even just a part-time pretend one like me) I promise you it’ll knock your socks right off. « Read the rest of this entry »

My blog is my happy place, but I just couldn’t bring myself to publish a normal post in the wake of what happened on Monday.
Boston holds a special place in my heart for a lot of reasons. I’ve shared it with some unbelievable people and have nothing but fond memories.

It took seven months, on and off, but my apartment is finally complete. (And by complete I mean as complete as I want it to be/can afford it to be)
All the catalogue flipping, online ordering, credit card swiping, driving, heaving, hauling, arranging and re-arranging was all worth it because I created exactly the space I wanted: something comfortable, feminine, and above all welcoming to compensate for real home being a five hour flight away.
