smart use of space.

I love how much more interesting these photographs are with the overwhelming amount of space. It changes the composition of each one completely and draws me in to the subjects that much more. It’s as if each photographer up and abandoned the rule of thirds, something I normally never think to do. Thank goodness for the rule breakers though, clearly going against the grain once in a while is the way to go.
I make a point to source every single photograph that isn’t mine, but unfortunately I haven’t been able to locate the source for the first one. If it is yours, please let me know and I will give you credit since it is so very deserved!
I really love comments too! We are alike!
Just kidding =) ,
Interesting post! Breaking rules is the usual way new things are discovered and beauty redefined. Like how the color and fade leads eye to the umbrella.
I completely agree!
In design and art we refer to this as ‘Negative Space’ and I love using it in photography and other compositions. Really like the photos, the first two are almost Lomo’esk, my favourite is the second last one.
Interesting you say that, I was going to call this post ‘negative space.’ I definitely want to try and take more photos like this! Would love to see some of yours.
