A few weeks ago a friend of mine (I call him Kiwi, entirely because of where he’s from) asked me to donate some photographs to his non-profit organization to sell as postcards – and I of course agreed. His organization is called Backpacker Love and the premise behind it is nothing short of amazing. It’s a portal where backpackers from around the world can share experiences + help contribute to global communities by donating art to raise money + awareness of worthy causes that they stumble upon on their travels.
If you’ve ever backpacked then there’s no doubt you can testify to what an incredible experience travelling is. I’ve been very fortunate to have gone on two trips in the last six months. I know I’m not the first to admit it, but each time I travel I leave feeling changed, and I can’t even begin to explain how – for all those who too have been infected by the travel bug, you know what I’m talking about right? It’s this change that inspired my friend to start Backpacker Love. So I decided to support his cause + send over some photos (if you’ve been keeping up with the blog, some of them might look familiar!). I of course had a difficult time choosing but he seemed to be a fan – success! Do you think this mean that when they start appearing on the organization’s postcards I’ll officially be considered a published photographer? Wouldn’t that be neat…
