Moving to Santa Monica has been the absolute best,
especially when the weather is like how it has been lately,
but it’s also the worst because it’s so distracting.
Why would I sit at my desk and do work when I can be outside in the sun?
the epitome of a first world problem.
You’d think after a year and a half I’d have more willpower,
but apparently it takes having the Pacific Ocean walking distance away to throw that out the window. « Read the rest of this entry »

Not a day goes by that I don’t see at least one photograph,
largely thanks to Instagram, Pinterest and blogging.
Because of them I’ve seen some truly remarkable photos that have quite literally taken my breath away.
I’m on Instagram every chance I get & I absolutely love the days when I can bundle up under a blanket with a tea in hand and scour through posts to ooooh and aaaaah at all the amazing photography that some of my favorite lady bloggers put out there.
I’m a visual person,
I’d much rather look at photos than read words,
but sometimes the words can change the entire perception of a photograph.
What could have been just a simple photo that I took less than two seconds to scan over suddenly has a story behind it that completely changes the way I look at it,
and it’s this thought that’s the inspiration behind a new series I’ve decided to start: The Story Behind the Photograph.
Once in a while, rather than publish 10-40 photos in one post, I’ll spotlight one and share with you a few more words than normal about certain events that transpired when it was taken.
And I’m starting with this one: « Read the rest of this entry »

Let’s get back to trip recapping, shall we?
Paris is always a good idea.
Audrey sure had it right.
Going through and editing these photos had me just so smitten, and of course I fell head over heels for this city all over again.
That’s all it took.
Every corner, every sign, every building and every detail in every scene just takes your breath away.
Walking those narrow streets, glancing up at the gorgeous architecture, catching sound of the beautiful french language, rounding a corner to the smell of fresh baguettes at a boulangerie, and people watching – oh the people watching – are things I could never tire of in a city like Paris.
After a night of much needed sleep, my friends and I hit the ground running and didn’t stop all day.
We walked everywhere… « Read the rest of this entry »

I just got back from NYC with my wonderful friend Jessica and I miss it the most already! Her and I tackled the snowy Quebec ski town of Mont Tremblant together at this time last year so it came as no surprise that we had a blast together in the Big Apple.

Versailles is gorgeous.
I really don’t know how else to put it.
If you go to Paris, you absolutely must take the time to visit this place that’s quite easy to get to. « Read the rest of this entry »

Tomorrow I’m hopping on a plane to fly home and see some of my favorite people in the world.
It’s about time!
The winter coats (yes, plural), mitts, hats, scarves, thick sweaters, and everything and anything wool & warm are ready for the sub zero temperatures that have been gracing Toronto lately. Oh joy.
But the only other thing that I’ll be travelling with tomorrow that’s more fun than all the layers I know I’ll stay buried under for the next three weeks are allllll the presents I get to shower my friends and family with! I was very good this year and managed to keep to a budget, so I thought I’d share some of my favorite budget-friendly gifts. « Read the rest of this entry »

It’s with great pleasure that I report this year’s Thanksgiving was a smashing success.
Since my people celebrate this grand holiday in October and these American types prefer it in November, I was succumbed to waiting an extra month longer for my turkey, stuffing & pumpkin pie…how dare they :)
The extra days off and
probably most certainly one of the yummiest of meals is always oh so worth it, and spending it with one of my best friends and her family up in Oregon made it even better than I could have imagined. « Read the rest of this entry »
